They're both nice One is pretty and cute, and the other is sophisticated. The city scene is good if you plan to do the rest of the room in a very modern style -- it would look bad if you have clutter. The branch is better if your style isn't normally sleek.

This should also be considered for their cabinet or vanity that you keep their tooth brushes, hairbrushes etcetera in. You should hang decorative shelving or cubbies for plenty of storage space and to help keep this room organized.

How can I attach an item to my home without drilling holes in the siding?

I bought one of those metal wall plaques that are meant to be hung outdoors for garden decor. I live in a place where we are not allowed to drill holes in the siding, but I see people everywhere with them attached to their homes. I asked around at a home improvement store, but they weren't very helpful. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to hang it. I can't use the command hooks with the sticky backing, because it would be too heavy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I agree that the wall plaque would be too heavy for sticky back. One option would be to install a post or pipe large enough to handle it. You could dig a hole in the ground next to the siding spot you want it displayed at. Add a cross piece large enough to accommodate the plaque. Paint the post to match the siding, and the post will blend in with the siding. Good luck.

Is this table antique?

I have acquired a dinette set when an elderly couple died. I do not know the maker, brand or date.
It it a dark wood octagon table top that weighs around 75 lbs. The base is a heavy wrought iron I believe. All four chairs have a matching wrought iron design to them. The metal that i think is wrought is black in color. Tha chairs have a burnt orange fabric with a hint of pink???
I will post a link to a picture of this table.

The thing is, do you like it and could you use it? I certainly wouldn't say it was garbage - I rather like it. Things are worth what people are willing to pay so you might be lucky. If you want to sell it you could advertise it as unusual conservatory furniture, where it would be quite appropriate.

It is best if these pictures were blown up, or enlarged. It would probably be good if you keep the frame uniform; if you used a gold-leaf frame on a certain picture, all other pictures should use the same frame. Doing this effectively omits a look of chaos.

2. Paintings

This is another classical decoration. You can do either of two things: hang a large painting, or hang smaller multiple paintings. The two main criteria for selecting paintings are size and color. The painting should be too large that it will overwhelm the wall, nor to small to be lost in all other items.

Paintings should be hung in a way so that its center is at eye level. When choosing a painting for a large wall art décor, choose a bold color in your room or house and choose artwork that has that color in it. If you want muted colors, you may choose a black-and-white art with a light-colored mat or neutral colored frame.

Style should be consistent. For example, if your house or room is filled with antiques, the painting you choose may have antique-style frames.

3. Sculptures

Two-dimensional sculptures are also great for wall decors. Another idea is to surround a larger sculpture or painting with smaller ones. A good way of organizing such is to draw an imaginary rectangle and the part of the wall you want to focus on. Then fill that rectangle with a grouping of related art, in this case, sculptures.

4. Carpet and rugs

Beautifully designed carpets such as Persian rugs can be used as wall decors. Just make sure that it coincides with the theme of your room since these kinds of rugs usually have overwhelming designs. Please note that most Persian rugs are large and can dominate entire walls.

5. Unconventional materials

Do not limit yourself to paintings, photographs, and other classical art. You can use other materials. For example, an old wooden box can be repaired and hanged as a curio cabinet and a wall décor at the same time. Wooden blocks can be used as candle stands. A piece of weathered driftwood can be used to accent a wall. The possibilities are endless.

6. Wallpaper

Don't forget this simple large wall art décor. Wallpapers can really define the atmosphere of a room. You can choose between plain colored ones for a simplistic design or a patterned one to establish a theme. There are endless styles available in home improvement shops

7. Lights

An artful display of lights is a contemporary wall décor art. Spotlights suspended on the ceiling project beams on the wall. Carefully arranged, the beams can form patterns, lines, and spots that are as effective as any painting. Spotlights can also be used to highlight particular pieces of artwork.

Disney Wall Stickers Influence the Imagination

Through many of my acquaintances I have yet to encounter a living human being that does not have a favorite Disney movie or character in their hearts. Just seeing an advertisement or stuffed animal can bring a flood of memories to ones soul. Childhood can’t be recreated but bits and pieces are forever embedded in our minds. As parents we can somewhat relive these precious moments from our past through our off springs. We can accomplish this simply by creating a comforting and colorful safe haven for our little ones. At the same time their little minds will start to absorb and store memories of their own.

Growing up I can remember listening to an album of 101 Dalmatians over and over again. I kept recreating the movie with songs and the vivid pictures that were included in the album. So as no surprise, I longed to bring this vision to my baby’s room. This was my memory not hers so I needed some kind of decor that was not permanent. Wallpaper or painting the walls was not an option. What was necessary would be a material that could be removed easily or could change and grow with my child. It still had to look professional and be an outlet for my baby’s imagination.

The wall decor that would hit all the prerequisites was Disney wall stickers. They are usually made of a heavy duty vinyl with a peel and stick adhesive back. These stickers are just the perfect feature for easy on and easy off application. They are durable and for those sticky fingers are washable. The best part is the never ending Disney characters that are available. They stick to any flat surface and you do not need to be artistic to have a professional look. This just might be the easiest but most dramatic decorating technique there is.

The Disney wall stickers are fun and interactive and seem to transform the entire room. For a custom look there are Disney decorating kits and repositionable wall boarders. The kits include murals, appliques, borders and other wall accessories that match the design. You can find numerous colors, sizes and textures to suit your decorating tastes and desires. There are some stickers that glow in the dark when the lights are turned off. On the internet there are websites that feature a virtual tour of finished walls using Disney wall sticker kits. This allows you to duplicate the design or make changes to fit your personality.

Using Disney wall stickers is cost efficient and extremely useful for renters. They leave no residue behind when removed so landlords need not worry. If you are a home owner but are planning to move they are great since you can peel them off the wall and take them wherever you go.

What I finally decided on for my daughters room was four different themes that all blended nicely. On the wall that was over her crib I choose a princess theme. The Disney characters were comprised of Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid. There were also stickers of tiny creatures and butterflies and birds. On the wall opposite her crib was Bugs bunny, Mickey Mouse and Tweety Pie. They seemed to pop out from the wall. There was also a button on Bugs Bunny nose when pushed it played a tune.

On the two remaining walls was my favorite the dog theme. One wall was composed of 101 Dalmatians and the other was from the movie the Lady and the Tramp. After all we are proud owners of a cocker spaniel.

The hardest part of the entire project was deciding on the cast of characters to place on the walls. The actual time it took to hang was one hour for the entire job. When anyone comes to see my new bundle of joy, they seem to first comment on the Disney wall stickers. I guess no matter how old we get, we all love Disney.
