Chandelier Bronze

Rewiring a chandelier with a thin bronze base, but the base seems sealed. How do I open the base?

I unscrewed the bottom screw, tapped the base, but I can't see any seam. The chandelier is from the 1930's or earlier w/ white enamel accenting the bronze/glass body. There doesn't seem to be a seam!!!! I can't rewire because I can't access where all the wires join from the five arms. Thank you for listening to my angst.
