In fallout on the 360 once i beat the main campaign can i still play the side quests or does it end?

so after the mmain campaign does all replayabilty and side quests stop?
can i even do anything afterwards?

If you don't have Broken Steel, then the game just ends after the final main mission; there's no wandering around the wasteland to get what you missed, there's no continuing missions, there's no New Game+ mode where you can start the game with your end-game inventory. If you don't want to pay to download Broken Steel, then make sure that you save before you talk to Sarah Lyons in the Citadel after your escape from Raven Rock and talking to Elder Lyons in the Citadel.

If you do have Broken Steel, then you can activate new missions that extend the main mission line of the game for a few more hours, and the game doesn't just end after you complete it then. You also get an extended level cap (raising it from 20 to 30), new perks that can prove quite handy depending on your playing style, new enemies, and new armors/weapons/locations.
