Will dark blue paint show up light blue on white wood?

i have white wood shelfs and want to paint them blue, but the only blue paint i have is dark blue. wat will happen?

If you use a proper primer, the paint will dry to the color of the paint, no lighter. If you just paint the wood, then you’ll need several coats, since it will be streaky, not a lighter color.

If make your paint a lighter color. Buy some of the same type of paint in white, and mix the dark blue with the white to make the color you want. You’ll need a clean container to mix the paint in. Make enough to do the whole project, since it’ll be difficult to get the color the same with each mix.

The easiest thing is to have a custom color mixed for you when you bought the paint. They can make up any color you want.
