How You Can Put Up Wall Sconce Lighting To Give Your Home An Elegant Ambiance
Many interior designers recommend wall sconces for the illumination of homes. These nifty home accessories are able to give your home beautiful indirect lighting, a more quieter and soft approach to lighting compared to their floor lamp alternatives, which could sometimes take up a lot of space or give off too much lighting. Wall sconce lighting is versatile, accommodating all kinds of light sources, whether it be from candle light, electricity, the sun, and even batteries. If you are wanting to give wall sconce lighting a try, consider these decor tips.
Always try to place your wall sconce light at head level, maybe even slightly higher. For example, if you are designing something like your vanity set, you should place wall sconce lighting where the head level would be when you sit. This also applies to places such as your living room and your study. For areas such as doors, archways, and halls, it's best to place wall sconce lighting higher up.
Wall sconces work great together with mirrors. Elongated mirrors look nice when you put wall sconces vertically along the sides. Short and square mirrors look nice when you place a wall sconce on each of the lower or upper corners. Alternatively, you can place a wall sconce halfway up on the right and left. You can also put wall sconces horizontally on either the lower or upper pane. I prefer the lower pane.
Usually, geometric shapes work well in any room. Cylinders, circles, squares, and rectangles are good shapes to start with. However you also should work with the general shapes of the specific room which you are decorating. For instance, the furnishings in my family room is mostly circular. Consequently, I would be placing sphere, circle, and possibly oval shaped wall sconces.
