A lot of consideration should go into the purchase of a bathroom vessel sink. One key point to consider is the stability of the sink. The best and sturdiest vessel sinks are those that are well saddled on the pedestal, countertop, or “cradle.” When these cradles are not made of the same material as the vessel sink, they are usually made of copper or steel. For countertop vessel sink installations, a metal mounting ring serves as the cradle, providing about a quarter inch of space and stability between your sink and the surface.
